Car
If you have a rental car, head southeast from the main area of Makgadikgadi Pans. Follow the signs towards the Baines Baobabs. The route generally involves travelling along the A3 highway. After approximately 30 kilometers, you will turn onto a dirt road that leads directly to Baines Baobabs. The GPS coordinates for Baines Baobabs are -20.1121417 latitude and 24.7691109 longitude. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for off-road conditions as the last stretch may require a 4x4.
Public Transportation
To reach Baines Baobabs via public transport, you can take a shared taxi or minibus from the nearest town, Maun, which is approximately 100 kilometers away. In Maun, look for taxis heading towards the Makgadikgadi Pans area. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they will drop you off at or near Baines Baobabs. The cost for the shared taxi should be around 50-70 BWP (Botswana Pula) per person. Once you arrive at the drop-off point, you will need to walk or hire a local guide to take you to the Baobabs, as they are not directly accessible from the main road.
