Sango Safari Camp Travel Guide

Sango Safari Camp is located on the outskirts of Khwai Village, bordering the eastern Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta. Named after the local Sango family, who co-own the camp, it offers an intimate and authentic Botswana safari experience. The camp overlooks the Khwai River and the Moremi Game Reserve, both known for their diverse wildlife.The camp accommodates a maximum of twelve guests in six classic Meru-style tents. These tents are raised on wooden decks and feature en-suite bathrooms with bucket showers, hot and cold water, flush toilets, and vanity basins. Beds are draped with mosquito nets, and each tent faces the open plain and the Khwai River. The communal areas are under canvas, creating a cozy atmosphere. Guests can relax in the lounge, enjoy meals in the dining area, or gather around the open-air boma with a fireplace.Sango Safari Camp's location allows for game drives in both the Moremi Game Reserve and the Khwai Concession. The area boasts permanent water sources, seasonal flood plains, open grasslands, riverine forests, and dry woodlands, attracting a wide range of wildlife. Guests can expect to see elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, hippos, and various antelope species. Activities include day and night game drives, walking safaris, and mokoro (dugout canoe) trips.
