Getting There

• Driving

  From Gaborone, take the A1 road south towards Lobatse. Continue on the A1 until the junction with the A12 road. Turn left onto the A12 towards Tswapong. After approximately 70 km, turn left onto the C4 road. Follow the C4 for about 60 km until you reach the Dovedale area. Look for the coordinates C4J2+PV; this is the location of Gemsbokpan-Dovedale Ranch. Be prepared for some unpaved roads as you approach the ranch; a 4x4 vehicle is recommended for better access. It will take approximately 3 to 4 hours depending on traffic and road conditions. There are no tolls on this route. Parking is available at the ranch.

• Public Transport

  Start at the Gaborone Bus Rank and take a bus to Lobatse. From Lobatse, catch another bus heading towards Tswapong. Inform the driver that you wish to get off at the C4 road junction. From there, you will need to hire a taxi or arrange for a ride to the Gemsbokpan-Dovedale Ranch, as public transport does not typically cover rural areas. Ensure you have local currency on hand as this will incur additional costs. The bus fare from Gaborone to Lobatse is approximately 50-80 BWP, and the bus fare from Lobatse to Tswapong is approximately 40-60 BWP. A taxi from the C4 junction to the ranch may cost 100-200 BWP, depending on the distance and negotiation.
