Getting There

  • Air Transfer

    The most convenient way to reach Mashatu Lodge is via air transfer to Limpopo Valley Airfield (LVA), located within the reserve. Mashatu Connect offers scheduled flights from Lanseria Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa. Upon arrival at LVA, a guide will transfer you to the lodge, offering your first game drive experience. Contact Mashatu Connect or your travel agent for flight schedules and pricing.

  • Road Transfer via Pont Drift Border Post

    If driving from Johannesburg (approx. 6.5 hours) or Polokwane Airport (approx. 2 hours), you'll need to cross the border at Pont Drift. Note that the border post is open from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. If the Limpopo River is flowing, a cable car is used to cross; otherwise, vehicles can drive across. Ensure your passport is stamped and declare any items as required. Mashatu rangers can meet you at the border post at 1:00 PM for a transfer to the lodge. There may be a fee for the cable car, inquire when booking.
