The Memorial JK is a Brazilian mausoleum, presidential memorial, and cultural center honoring Juscelino Kubitschek (1902–1976), the 21st President of Brazil and the visionary behind Brasília. Designed by the renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer, the memorial stands on the Monumental Axis in Brasília. It serves as Kubitschek's final resting place and a museum dedicated to his life and work. The memorial's architecture is a sight to behold, featuring a truncated pyramid covered in white marble, complemented by a dome. A 28-meter high pedestal supports a statue of Juscelino, crafted by Honório Peçanha. Inside, you'll find a reproduction of Kubitschek's library from his former Rio de Janeiro apartment, personal belongings, and photographs with prominent 20th-century figures. The exhibits detail the construction of Brasília and Kubitschek's contributions to Brazil's modernization. Highlights include the presidential sash, clothing worn at his inauguration, and his tomb beneath stained glass art by Marianne Peretti.
