To reach Cachoeira da Macumba, start from either Cuiabá or Chapada dos Guimarães. From Cuiabá, take the MT-251 highway towards Chapada dos Guimarães. The park entrance is approximately 50 km from Cuiabá. If starting from the town of Chapada dos Guimarães, the entrance is about 11 km away on the same highway. Once at the park entrance, follow the signs to Cachoeira da Macumba. Parking is available near the trail entrance, though it can fill up quickly, especially on weekends. There is no entrance fee to the park itself , but some attractions within the park may have separate fees. Car rentals are available at Cuiabá airport. Uber is also an option for getting to Chapada dos Guimarães. A taxi or Uber from Cuiabá to Chapada dos Guimarães can cost around R$85-R$94. Parking near the waterfall is free, but limited.
Public Transport
To reach Cachoeira da Macumba via public transport, take a bus from the Cuiabá bus terminal to Chapada dos Guimarães. Buses depart approximately every hour. The journey takes about one hour and costs around R$18. From Chapada dos Guimarães, you can take a taxi or Uber to the park entrance and then follow the signs to Cachoeira da Macumba. Alternatively, some buses may drop you off directly at the Véu de Noiva waterfall entrance, which is a short distance from Cachoeira da Macumba. Keep in mind that public transport within the park itself is limited, so plan accordingly. A taxi or Uber from the city center of Chapada dos Guimarães to the park entrance will cost approximately R$20-R$30.
