Cachoeira Poço Encantado, or the Enchanted Well Waterfall, is a captivating natural monument located in Teresina de Goiás, within the Chapada dos Veadeiros region. The waterfall is divided into two sections, with the upper part cascading down 18 meters and the lower section dropping 20 meters, totaling approximately 38 meters in height. The base of the waterfall forms a natural pool, roughly 50 meters in diameter, inviting visitors to marvel at its beauty.
One of the most striking features of Poço Encantado is the beach of white sand that appears and changes with each flood, creating unique shapes and sizes. The crystal-clear waters allow for excellent visibility, making it a popular spot for photographers and nature enthusiasts.
The waterfall is situated on the Rio de Pedra farm, about 52 km north of Alto Paraíso-GO and 274 km from Brasília-DF, nestled within one of the most beautiful regions of the Cerrado biome in the State of Goiás. Teresina de Goiás, the youngest municipality in Chapada dos Veadeiros, is developing its infrastructure to welcome tourists to natural attractions like Poço Encantado and Cachoeira da Força.
Visitors can enjoy self-guided tours of the area, immersing themselves in the natural beauty of the falls and surrounding landscape. The best time to visit is during the dry season, from May to September, when the weather is warm and ideal for outdoor activities.

From Teresina de Goiás, take GO-118 towards the north. After approximately 22 kilometers, look for signs indicating the entrance to Cachoeira Poço Encantado. The waterfall is located off the main road, and there may be a short unpaved section to navigate. Parking is available near the entrance. Note that roads in the region can be challenging, especially after heavy rains.
Taxi/Ride-Share
From accommodations in Teresina de Goiás, a taxi or ride-share service can take you to Cachoeira Poço Encantado. The ride is approximately 22 kilometers and should take around 30-40 minutes. Confirm the fare with the driver before departure. Expect to pay around R$ 50-80 for a one-way trip.
