Before colonization, the area now known as Lagoa da Conceição was inhabited by the native Guarani people. Their presence is significant in the region, as they developed a rich culture closely tied to the land and the lagoon, which served as a source of food and transportation.

The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes depending on traffic. If you’re coming from the north beaches, such as Jurerê or Canasvieiras, you can take a bus to the main terminal (TICEN) and transfer to a bus heading to Lagoa.
