Public Transportation

From the center of Itacaré, take a local bus heading towards the southern beaches. These buses are often marked with signs for Praia de São José. The fare is approximately R$5.00. Ask the driver to let you off at the nearest point to Praia de São José, from where you may need to walk about 1 kilometer down a dirt path to reach the beach. Be prepared for some uneven terrain.

Taxi or Rideshare

You can take a taxi or a rideshare service from anywhere in Itacaré. Provide the driver with the destination: Praia de São José. The cost will vary depending on your starting point, but expect to pay between R$20 to R$50. The driver will take you as close to the beach as possible, though you may need to walk a short distance on foot to reach the beach.

Walking

If you are already at one of the nearby beaches, such as Praia da Concha or Praia do Resende, you can walk to Praia de São José. From Praia da Concha, head east along the shoreline until you reach the rocky outcrop. Then, continue along the beach path that leads to Praia de São José.
