Walking
From the Mercado Modelo in the lower city, the Elevador Lacerda is easily visible. Head to the Praça Cairu, where the base of the elevator is located. The entrance fee is R$0.15. After purchasing your ticket, step inside one of the cabins for a quick ride to the upper city.
Public Transport
If arriving by public transport from the Rodoviária (bus terminal), take bus line 1003 (Circular Centro). Get off at the stop at Praça da Sé. From there, walk towards Praça Tomé de Souza, where the Elevador Lacerda is located. The bus fare is approximately R$4.50. Once at the elevator, the ride costs R$0.15.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber are readily available in Salvador. A ride from the city center to the Elevador Lacerda typically costs between R$20 and R$50, depending on the distance and traffic. Ask the driver to drop you off at Praça Tomé de Souza (upper city) or near the Mercado Modelo (lower city) for easy access to the elevator. Remember to factor in the R$0.15 elevator fare.
