Start your journey by taking the Metro from any central station (like Cinelândia or Carioca) to the Botafogo station. From Botafogo station, exit and head to Rua da Passagem to catch bus number 580 (Jardim Botânico). This bus will take you directly to Jardim Botânico. Once you arrive at Jardim Botânico, get off at the stop closest to the Botanical Garden entrance. From there, walk towards the entrance of the park.

After entering the Botanical Garden, follow the main path straight through the garden until you reach the end. Look for signs directing you to 'Parque Nacional da Tijuca' and 'Cachoeira dos Primatas'. The trail leading to the waterfall starts from the rear of the garden. It's a well-marked and popular hiking trail, so you should be able to follow it easily.
