Walking
From Prainha Beach, the trailhead to Mirante do Caeté is located within the Parque Natural Municipal da Prainha, directly across from the beach's parking area. Enter the park and follow the well-marked trail. The hike is a moderately easy climb, taking approximately 30-40 minutes to reach the top. There are no additional costs involved, as access to both the park and the trail is free.
Public Transport
To reach Prainha Park by public transport, take a bus to Recreio dos Bandeirantes. From the Recreio, several bus lines will take you to Estrada do Pontal. Get off at the first stop after you stop seeing the beach. From there, it's about a 1.5 to 2 kilometer walk to the entrance of the park. Bus fares in Rio de Janeiro typically cost around R$5. Once at the park, the trail to Mirante do Caeté is free.
Taxi/Ride-Share
From Recreio dos Bandeirantes, a taxi or ride-sharing service (such as Uber) to Prainha Park is a convenient option. The ride is short, and the cost will likely be between R$15 and R$30, depending on traffic and surge pricing. Ask the driver to take you to the entrance of Parque Natural Municipal da Prainha. From there, the trail to Mirante do Caeté is easily accessible and free.
