Driving
Prainha Beach is accessible by car via Avenida Estado de Guanabara, which passes by the beach. From Barra da Tijuca, follow the road towards Recreio and Praia da Macumba. Parking is available, but it can be limited, especially on weekends, so arrive early. There are parking restrictions due to the APA of Grumari, an area of environmental protection.
Public Transport
To reach Prainha by public transport, take the Linha 505 - Recreio bus from the Rodoviária Novo Rio bus station towards Recreio dos Bandeirantes. Stay on the bus for approximately 50 minutes until you reach the 'Prainha' stop. From there, it's a short walk downhill to the beach. The Surf Bus used to be an option, departing from Largo do Machado and passing through various beaches, but it is temporarily out of service.
