Once you arrive at the Petrópolis train station, exit and look for local buses or taxis that can take you closer to the museum.

Alternatively, from Rio de Janeiro, you can take a bus from the Novo Rio Bus Terminal. Look for buses heading to Petrópolis. The bus ride will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arriving at the main bus station in Petrópolis, you can either take a taxi or find a local bus that stops near Rua Cristovão Colombo.

If you choose to walk from the Petrópolis bus station, exit and head northeast on Rua do Imperador. Continue straight until you reach Rua Cristovão Colombo. Turn left onto Rua Cristovão Colombo and walk for about 10 minutes until you reach the Museum House of Colonist, which will be on your right at number 1034.
