Discover more about Cachoeira Parida

Cachoeira Parida is considered one of the most perfect waterfalls in the Serra da Canastra. Located near Sacramento, it is a bit more difficult to access, which means it is explored by fewer tourists, making it even more exuberant. The waterfall emerges from a small canyon, where two streams converge into a deep, clear pool. The waters then cascade down a second fall into another crystalline pool known as “Poço do Macaco” (Monkey Pool), named for a rock formation resembling a monkey's face. The journey to Cachoeira Parida is an adventure in itself. The access is via a private farm, where a small fee is collected for the maintenance of trails and cleaning of the area. Visitors can choose to hike along a marked trail or wade through the water, but caution is advised, especially for non-swimmers. Near the farm, a stream forms another natural pool with super transparent waters that eventually joins the Rio das Velhas. This river flows until it becomes the Rio Araguari, which runs through southern Brazil. These waters are essential for maintaining the region's incredible biodiversity and play a crucial role in the hydrographic basin that benefits the entire country.
