    The primary access to Scrub Island is via ferry from Trellis Bay Dock on Beef Island, Tortola. Upon arrival at Terrance B. Lettsome Airport (EIS) on Beef Island, a Scrub Island representative will escort you to the nearby Trellis Bay Ferry Dock, about 200 feet away. The Scrub Island ferry operates frequently, approximately every 45 minutes, from 6:45 am to 10:30 pm. The ferry ride to Scrub Island takes about 10 minutes and is complimentary for resort guests.

  • Taxi & Ferry

    From elsewhere on Tortola, take a taxi to Trellis Bay. Taxis are readily available throughout Tortola. The taxi ride to Trellis Bay from Road Town, the capital, typically costs $35-45 and takes approximately 15 minutes. From Trellis Bay, board the Scrub Island ferry for the 10-minute ride to the resort. The ferry is complimentary for resort guests.

In the 20th century, American architect Gene McManus owned the island, building a home and operating Donovan's Reef restaurant. The Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina opened in 2010, marking the first major BVI resort development in over 15 years.
