    From Road Town, the capital of Tortola, taxis are readily available. The ride to Jenesis Studios in Great Mountain is approximately a 15-20 minute drive. Taxis are a common mode of transport in Tortola, and fares are fixed by law, though it's always wise to confirm the rate before starting your journey. Expect to pay around $20-$30 USD for a one-way trip from Road Town.

    If driving from Sage Mountain National Park, head west on the main road until you reach the junction at the bottom of the hill. Turn left onto Great Mountain Road and follow it for approximately 2 miles; Jenesis Studios will be on your right. Look for the sign at the entrance. Note that roads in Tortola can be steep and narrow. Parking is available at the studio.

Jenesis Studios is a captivating attraction located in the scenic Great Mountain area of Tortola. Founded by Reuben Vanterpool, a respected local artist and educator, and his wife Olive, the studio is a celebration of BVI art, history, and culture. Reuben's artwork often depicts island heritage and BVI country life, showcased in vivid and lifelike paintings and meticulously rendered models. Visitors can explore traditional thatched homes and a horse-powered mill used for grinding sugar cane, offering a glimpse into the island's past. The studio also features a garden with herbal and medicinal plants. Olive often demonstrates the making of traditional cassava bread in a fully operational outdoor oven. The atmosphere is welcoming, providing a space to admire art and learn about the cultural heritage of the British Virgin Islands. Jenesis Studios provides a unique and culturally immersive way to learn about Tortola. Damaged by Hurricane Irma in 2018, the studio has been lovingly restored. A small snack bar offers local food and beverages, and a gift shop sells Reuben's pottery and other items.
