Nestled on the northeastern coast of Jost Van Dyke in the British Virgin Islands, the Bubbly Pool is a hidden gem that offers a unique and exhilarating experience. This natural tidal pool is formed by waves crashing through a narrow gap in the rocks, creating a bubbly effect similar to a natural jacuzzi.
From a distance, the Bubbly Pool may appear to be an unassuming cove tucked among seaside rocks. However, when the tide is right, it transforms into a frothy, effervescent pool, offering visitors a chance to relax and have fun in nature's own jacuzzi. The pool is most active during high tide and in the winter months when the waves are stronger.
The Bubbly Pool is accessible via a scenic hike from Foxy's Taboo, a family-owned bar and restaurant. The trail leads up a small hill, through a grove of cacti, and past a Manchineel tree, which should not be touched due to its poisonous nature. The hike is relatively short, taking about 10-15 minutes.
Visitors can relax in the bubbly waters, explore the surrounding area, and enjoy the views. Foxy's Taboo is a popular spot to grab a drink or a bite to eat before or after visiting the pool.

Getting There
Walking
The Bubbly Pool is accessible via a walking trail from Foxy's Taboo. From the gate at the northwest corner of Foxy's Taboo, follow the well-trod path. This will lead you to the base of a small hill, where there are a few ropes to guide you up the slope if you need them. Once you make it to the top, follow the trail to the left; it will bring you past a sea of cactuses, toward the gleaming pool at the end of the trail. The walk is a fairly straightforward hike and takes roughly 10-15 minutes. There is no cost associated with walking to the Bubbly Pool.
Boat
To reach the Bubbly Pool by boat, you can take a dinghy to the dock at Foxy's Taboo on Diamond Cay. From there, walk along the shoreline to the northeast from behind Foxy's Taboo until you reach the hill with the caution signs. Turn left and follow the trail to the Bubbly Pool. Moorings at Diamond Cay are limited, so it's best to arrive early. Dinghy dock fees are typically minimal, around $5-$10.
