Ferry
The most common way to reach White Bay is by ferry from Tortola. Ferries run multiple times a day from West End, Tortola (Soper's Hole) to Jost Van Dyke's ferry dock in Great Harbour. The ride is about 25 minutes and costs around $20–$30 USD (round-trip fares for adults). From Great Harbour, a taxi to White Bay is recommended. Alternatively, ferries are available from St. Thomas or St. John (USVI) to Jost Van Dyke, running less frequently (often only Fri–Sun). Transportation from Tortola to JVD is paid directly to the vendor in cash.
Taxi
From Great Harbour ferry dock, taxis are readily available to take you to White Bay. The journey is short, approximately 10 minutes, and offers scenic views of the island. Expect to pay around $15-$20 USD for the taxi ride. Confirm the fare with the driver before setting off.
Walking
For those feeling adventurous, it's about a half-hour walk from the ferry dock in Great Harbour to White Bay Beach. Follow the road west from the ferry dock, and then over the hill to White Bay. Be aware that the walk involves some uphill climbs and can be hot, so bring water and wear appropriate footwear.
