From the center of Chepelare, head northeast on 'Tsar Boris III' street towards 'Vasil Levski' street. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you see signs for the fortress Zagrad. The fortress is located approximately 2 kilometers outside Chepelare. There is a small parking area near the entrance, which is free of charge.

Take a local bus from Chepelare to the nearby village of Zagrad. Buses run every hour from the central bus station in Chepelare. The bus fare is approximately 2 BGN. Once you arrive in Zagrad, the fortress is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop. Follow the road leading toward the hills, and look for signs directing you to fortress Zagrad.
