Founded in 1901 by Peter Topuzov, a patriotic citizen of Kazanluk, the Historical Museum “Iskra” stands as a repository of the region's vibrant past. The museum's extensive collection encompasses artifacts from various periods, including archaeology, the Middle Ages, the Bulgarian National Revival, and more recent history. The archaeology section features tools and pottery from the Neolithic, Chalcolithic, and Bronze Ages, alongside Thracian artifacts. The treasury hall displays golden, silver, and bronze finds from Thracian temples, including items belonging to Seuthes III, such as his golden wreath, helmet, and knee-pads. Visitors can also explore collections of medieval ceramics, weaponry, jewelry, and traditional costumes. Beyond its exhibits, the museum offers insights into local customs, including demonstrations of rituals related to the Rose Festival and rose oil production.
