Bell Tower, Haskovo Travel Guide

Rising nearly 30 meters high, the Bell Tower of Haskovo offers visitors stunning panoramic views of the city and surrounding landscapes. Constructed in 2010 near the Monument of the Holy Mother of God, it quickly became a symbol of the city and a popular spot for both tourists and locals.The tower features a unique design, standing apart from traditional church bell towers and is often described as a clock tower. Ascending the tower involves climbing 135 steps via a curved staircase to reach the top level. Here, eight bells of varying sizes create a melodious ambiance, with chimes ringing at 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM daily. Some of the bells were crafted at the Veleganov Bell Foundry in Plovdiv, a company with a history dating back to Bulgaria's pre-liberation period.Located in Yamacha Park, the Bell Tower provides a tranquil environment for relaxation and photography. The tower is open year-round, allowing visitors to appreciate the city from above, no matter the season. The Municipality of Haskovo is working to improve accessibility to the area, though the tower itself remains inaccessible to those with disabilities.
