Once within the Old Town, the best way to explore is on foot. The main entrance is near the isthmus connecting the peninsula to the mainland. From there, follow the cobblestone streets, keeping an eye out for historical markers and landmarks such as the Church of Christ Pantocrator and the ruins of the ancient fortress. Be aware that the streets can be uneven, so wear comfortable shoes. There is no cost to enter the Old Town itself, but individual museums and churches may have entrance fees.

If arriving from Sunny Beach or Burgas, take a local bus to Nessebar. Buses from Sunny Beach are frequent and drop you off near the entrance to the Old Town. From Burgas, the bus takes approximately 1 hour and 2 minutes. A single bus fare from Burgas to Nesebar costs $2-4. Once you arrive at the bus stop, it's a short walk across the isthmus to enter the Old Town.

If driving, follow the E87 road to Nessebar. Be aware that parking in the Old Town is limited. Paid parking lots are available near the entrance to the Old Town. Parking costs vary, with options for hourly or daily rates. Old town Nessebar Parking is located at ul. 'Krajbrezhna' 22, 8231 Nessebar, Bulgaria. Another option is the Yacht Port parking lot. Expect to pay around 8 BGN for several hours or 12-20 BGN for overnight parking. From the parking area, it's a short walk into the Old Town.
