There is parking available near the monastery, but it can fill up quickly, especially on weekends and holidays. Note that there may be a small parking fee (around 5 BGN).

To reach Rila by public transport, you can take a bus from Sofia to Rila Monastery. Buses depart from the Sofia Central Bus Station (Автогара Сердика). The journey takes about 2 to 2.5 hours and costs approximately 10 BGN one way. Buses typically run every hour, but it’s a good idea to check the schedule in advance as it can vary. Once you arrive at the Rila Monastery bus stop, you can walk to the monastery, which is about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.
