Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Dupnitsa. Head south on the E79 road towards Rila Monastery. Follow signs for Rila Monastery, and after approximately 30 kilometers, you will reach the monastery. Hrelyo's Tower is located just a short walk from the monastery itself. There is parking available near the monastery, although it may incur a small fee, usually around 5 BGN.
Public Transportation
To reach Hrelyo's Tower by public transportation, take a bus from Sofia to Rila Monastery. Buses leave from Sofia Central Bus Station to Rila Monastery several times a day. The journey takes about 2-3 hours. Once you arrive at Rila Monastery, exit the bus and follow the signs to the monastery. Hrelyo's Tower is a short 10-minute walk from the monastery entrance.
Walking
After arriving at Rila Monastery (whether by car or bus), you can reach Hrelyo's Tower on foot. From the main entrance of Rila Monastery, head towards the back of the monastery complex. Follow the well-marked path leading to Hrelyo's Tower. The walk is scenic, taking approximately 10-15 minutes, and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
