Start by taking trolleybus №2 from Vitosha Blvd towards Vitosha Mountain to its last stop. Then, cross the ring road of Sofia and walk up the hill for approximately 600 meters to reach the museum entrance. A one-way ticket for public transport costs BGN 1.60, or you can purchase a one-day card for BGN 4 for unlimited travel on all public transport.

Taxis offer a direct and convenient way to reach the National Museum of History. A taxi ride from the city center (e.g., Alexander Nevsky Cathedral) typically costs between BGN 15-17 and takes approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Ride-hailing apps are also available in Sofia.

While walking to the National Museum of History from the city center is possible, it is a considerable distance (approximately 7km) and not recommended for most tourists. However, if you are in the Boyana district or near the Boyana Church, walking to the museum is a pleasant option.
