    Discover more about Silistar Beach

Silistar Beach, Bulgaria's southernmost major beach, offers a captivating blend of natural beauty and tranquility. Located within the Strandzha Nature Park, near the village of Rezovo and the Turkish border, this protected area boasts a wide strip of soft, golden sand embraced by rocky headlands. The beach is approximately 1 km long and 50-70 meters wide. The beach's name has Greek origins, possibly from "syunlistareo," meaning "location adjacent to robbers," hinting at a past as a pirate haven. Today, however, Silistar is known for its peaceful ambiance and clear, calm waters, making it ideal for families with children. The shallow bay ensures a gentle change in depth, perfect for paddling and swimming. Silistar is a haven for nature lovers. Declared a protected area in 1992, it safeguards diverse flora and fauna, including endangered bird species like the golden eagle and black stork. The surrounding Strandzha Mountain adds to the scenic beauty, with lush forests meeting the golden sands. While Silistar offers a sense of remoteness, it also provides essential amenities. Visitors can find a restaurant serving reasonably priced food and drinks. Umbrellas and sunbeds are available for rent, and there's also a free zone for those who prefer to spread their towels on the sand. For the adventurous, coastal trails lead to nearby wild beaches like Lipite and Listi. However, caution is advised for divers due to potential underwater currents and whirlpools near the cliffs.
