Car
If you are driving from a central location in Strandzha, head towards the main road leading to Malko Tarnovo. Follow the signs for Malko Tarnovo and drive approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the town. Once in Malko Tarnovo, look for the signs that direct you towards Dokuzak Waterfall. You will need to take a left turn onto a smaller road leading into the forest. The last few kilometers are on a gravel road; it may be beneficial to drive a vehicle with higher clearance. Make sure to park in the designated area near the trailhead to the waterfall.
Public Transportation
To reach Dokuzak Waterfall using public transportation, start by taking a bus from Strandzha to Malko Tarnovo. Buses run regularly, and the fare is approximately 5-7 BGN. Once you arrive in Malko Tarnovo, you can either walk (about 3 kilometers) or take a taxi to the trailhead near the waterfall. Taxis are available around the bus station and should cost around 10-15 BGN. If you choose to walk, follow the signs toward the waterfall, which will lead you through beautiful forest scenery.
Hiking
After parking your vehicle or getting dropped off by a taxi, you will need to hike approximately 1.5 kilometers along a marked trail to reach Dokuzak Waterfall. The trail is well-maintained but can be steep in some sections, so be prepared with proper hiking shoes. Follow the signs, and enjoy the surrounding nature as you make your way to the waterfall. The hike typically takes about 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace.
