Getting There
Car
If you are traveling by car, start from Sofia. Head southeast on the 'Simeonovo' road (also known as 'Daskal Stoyanov Str.') towards Vitosha Mountain. Follow the signs for 'Aleko Hut' or 'Vitosha' while navigating through the mountain roads. After approximately 15 km, you will reach a parking area near the Aleko Hut. Please note that there may be a parking fee depending on the time of year and the day of the week.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take bus number 63 from Sofia to the 'Simeonovo' station. From there, transfer to the lift or gondola that takes you up to the Vitosha Mountain area. The lift operates during certain hours, so check the schedule ahead of time. Once you arrive at the top, you can walk approximately 1.5 km to reach the Aleko Hut. Be prepared for some uphill walking.
Hiking
If you are already in the Vitosha Mountain area and prefer to hike, you can take one of the marked trails leading to Aleko Hut. Popular starting points include the 'Dragalevtsi Monastery' or the 'Simeonovo' lift station. The hike will take about 1 to 2 hours depending on your pace and the chosen trail.
