Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards the city of Sofia and follow the signs for Vitosha Mountain. Take the main road leading to the Vitosha Nature Park entrance. Once you pass the entrance, continue on the main road until you reach the Aleko ski area. Park your car at the Aleko parking lot, which may incur a parking fee (around 5-10 BGN for a day). From Aleko, you can take the marked hiking trails towards Ivan Vazov Hut, which is approximately a 1.5 to 2-hour hike.
Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, take a bus from Sofia to the Aleko area. Buses to Vitosha leave from the 'Vitosha' bus station in Sofia. The bus ride takes about 30-40 minutes and costs around 2-3 BGN. Once you arrive at Aleko, you will need to hike the remaining distance to Ivan Vazov Hut. The hike from Aleko is well-marked and will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

From the Aleko parking area, follow the clearly marked hiking trail towards Ivan Vazov Hut. Keep an eye out for trail signs indicating the direction.
