Private Car
From the center of Makamba, head southwest on Avenue du Commerce towards Avenue de l'Indépendance. Continue on Avenue de l'Indépendance until you reach the intersection with Route Nationale 7 (RN7). Turn left onto RN7 and continue for approximately 10 kilometers. Look for signs directing you to Gakungwe or Ramba. As you approach Ramba, take the exit onto G993 and follow it for about 5 kilometers. The Livingston-Stanley Monument is located at G993+628 in Ramba. Parking is generally available near the monument.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach the Livingston-Stanley Monument using public transportation, start at the main bus station in Makamba. Look for a bus heading to Ramba or Gakungwe. The fare is usually around 1,500 BIF (Burundian Francs). The ride may take about 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Ramba, you can either walk or take a moto-taxi (which costs around 2,000 BIF) to reach the monument at G993+628. Be sure to ask the bus driver or conductor to inform you when you reach Ramba.
Moto-Taxi
If you prefer a quicker option, you can hire a moto-taxi from anywhere in Makamba. Simply ask a local to direct you to the nearest moto-taxi stand. The fare to Ramba should be around 5,000 BIF, and the journey will take approximately 20 minutes. Make sure to negotiate the price before starting your ride. Once in Ramba, you can either walk to the monument (about 10 minutes) or ask the moto-taxi driver to take you directly to the Livingston-Stanley Monument located at G993+628.
