From Bujumbura, take a taxi-brousse (shared minivan) from the central station towards Bururi. The journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and costs between 2,000 to 3,000 BIF. Ask the driver to drop you off at Burunga. From there, hire a local taxi or walk the remaining 5 km to the reserve entrance.

From Bujumbura, head south on Avenue du Commerce and take the N1 road towards Bururi. After approximately 30 km, look for signs directing you to Burunga. Follow the signs for another 15 km until you reach the coordinates 3H6X+V3G, Burunga. The entrance to Bururi Forest Nature Reserve will be marked. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition as some parts of the road may be rough.
