Car
From Nyungwe Forest National Park, head northeast on the N6 highway towards Butare. Continue on N6 for approximately 30 km until you reach the junction with the R.N.4 road. Turn left onto R.N.4 and continue driving for about 60 km. You will pass through Kibuye and along the beautiful shores of Lake Kivu. Keep an eye out for signposts directing you to Rusizi National Park. Upon reaching Kinyinya, stay on R.N.4 until you see the entrance to the park on your right. The total travel time is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.

Public Transportation
To use public transportation, start by taking a local bus or shared taxi from Nyungwe Forest to Butare. This journey will take about 30-45 minutes. Once in Butare, find a bus station and catch a bus heading to Kibuye. These buses leave frequently and the ride will take about an hour. After reaching Kibuye, you will need to take a taxi or a motorcycle taxi (known as 'moto') to Kinyinya, which is about 15 km away. The taxi fare should be negotiated before starting the trip, and you can expect to pay around 5,000 Rwandan Francs. Finally, ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance of Rusizi National Park.
