Buddha Lounge: A Chinatown Classic

This mural even caused an international incident in 1967 when it triggered protests in Ceylon (now Sri Lanka).The bar exudes a kitschy-cool vibe that attracts a diverse crowd. It's a place where you're just as likely to find neighborhood regulars as curious tourists. Bartenders are known to challenge patrons to a friendly game of Liar's Dice, adding to the bar's playful atmosphere. Buddha Lounge is also known for its distinctive “Lucky Buddha Beer,” which is imported from China and comes in a glass Buddha-shaped bottle. Another specialty is the Chinese Mai Tai, rumored to contain a splash of Three Penis Whiskey.Over the years, Buddha Lounge has become an iconic spot in Chinatown, contributing to the neighborhood's nightlife.
