From downtown San Francisco, the Mission District is easily accessible via BART. Take any train to the 16th Street Mission or 24th Street Mission stations. The ride from Civic Center/UN Plaza to 16th Street Mission takes approximately 2 minutes and costs $1-$3. Alternatively, several Muni bus lines serve the Mission, including the 14, 14R, 33, and 49. A single ride on Muni costs $3.00, or $2.50 with a Clipper card or the MuniMobile app. A day pass for unlimited rides on Muni buses, trains, and historic streetcars is available for $5.70 via the MuniMobile app.

From Dolores Park, walk east along 16th Street to reach the heart of the Mission District. Alternatively, from the Valencia Street corridor, head south towards 24th Street to explore the Mission's southern end. Balmy Alley is located off 24th Street, between Harrison and Treat Avenue. Clarion Alley is located between Mission and Valencia Streets, south of 17th Street. Be prepared for some hills.
