To reach Mt. Tamalpais from downtown San Francisco, you can take the Golden Gate Transit bus. Start by heading to the Transbay Terminal at 200 Folsom Street. Catch the Route 70 or Route 60 bus towards Marin County. The bus will take you over the Golden Gate Bridge and through Sausalito. Get off at the Marin City stop. From there, transfer to the Marin Transit Route 61 bus headed towards Mill Valley. Disembark at the Mt. Tamalpais State Park stop. Follow the signs to the trailhead for Mt. Tamalpais.
