Getting There

• Bus

  From downtown Berkeley, walk to the nearest bus stop serving the AC Transit buses, such as the stop at Shattuck Ave & University Ave. Take the AC Transit Bus Line 51B towards San Francisco. Ride the bus until you reach the 'Ferry Building' stop in San Francisco. From the bus stop, walk towards the waterfront and you will see the Ferry Building at 1 Ferry Building, San Francisco, CA 94105.

• BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit)

  Head to the nearest BART station in Berkeley, which is the Downtown Berkeley BART station. Purchase a ticket to the Embarcadero station in San Francisco. Board the train and enjoy the ride. Once you arrive at Embarcadero BART station, exit the station and walk towards the waterfront. The Ferry Building is a short 10-minute walk away; just head west on Market St, then turn left onto Embarcadero, and you will see the Ferry Building.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride from Berkeley to San Francisco via the Bay Bridge Trail. Start at your location in Berkeley and head towards the Bay Bridge on the bike path. Follow the signs for the Bay Bridge Trail which will lead you across the bridge. Once you arrive in San Francisco, follow signs directing you towards the Embarcadero. The Ferry Building is located at 1 Ferry Building, San Francisco, CA 94105.

• Walking

  If you're looking for a longer adventure, you can walk to the Ferry Building by first heading to the nearest BART station, the Downtown Berkeley BART. Take the BART to Embarcadero station as described earlier. After exiting the station, walk towards the waterfront on Market St. Continue straight until you reach the Embarcadero, then turn left. The Ferry Building will be directly ahead.
