Getting There

• Bus

  From downtown Berkeley, walk to the nearest bus stop on Shattuck Avenue. Take the AC Transit Bus 7 towards Richmond. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the Sausalito stop. From there, walk along Bridgeway towards the waterfront for about 15 minutes until you reach Fort Baker.

• Bicycle

  Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Berkeley. Start by heading west on University Avenue, which will take you to the Berkeley Marina. Once at the marina, follow the bike path that leads to the Golden Gate Bridge. After crossing the bridge, continue on the bike path, and follow signs to Fort Baker, which is approximately a 5-mile ride after the bridge.

• Ferry

  Walk to the nearest ferry terminal in downtown Berkeley, which is located at the Berkeley Marina. Board the ferry to Sausalito, which takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Sausalito, you can either walk or take a local shuttle to Fort Baker, which is about a 10-minute walk from the ferry terminal.

• Walking

  If you're in downtown Berkeley, you can walk to Fort Baker, although it is quite a distance. Start by walking west on University Avenue until you reach the waterfront. From there, you can follow the shoreline path towards the Golden Gate Bridge. After crossing the bridge, continue on the path until you reach Fort Baker. This route is roughly 5 miles and will take around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace.
