Getting There

• BART

  From any location in Berkeley, walk to the nearest BART station, which is likely the Downtown Berkeley station. Once there, take the Richmond line or the Pittsburg/Bay Point line towards San Francisco. You will travel through the Transbay Tube and will arrive at the Embarcadero station in San Francisco. From Embarcadero, transfer to the Montgomery Street station, which is a short walk away. Exit the station, head northwest on Montgomery Street, then turn left onto Clay Street. Continue on Clay until you reach Grant Avenue, then turn right. Walk for about 5 minutes until you reach Ross Alley, where you will find the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory at 56 Ross Alley.

• Bus

  Find the nearest AC Transit bus stop and catch the 1, 1R, or 40 bus heading towards San Francisco. Make sure to take a bus that will take you to the Transbay Terminal or the relevant stops on the way to Chinatown. Once you arrive in Chinatown, you can walk to Ross Alley. When you get off the bus, walk down Grant Avenue toward Clay Street, then turn left onto Clay Street. Continue straight until you see Ross Alley on the right. The Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory will be located at 56 Ross Alley.

• Walking

  If you are relatively close to the downtown area of Berkeley, you can enjoy a scenic walk to the BART station and then follow the BART directions above. However, if you are feeling adventurous, you can also walk to San Francisco via the pedestrian bridge at the Bay Bridge. This route is quite long, approximately 12 miles, so ensure you're prepared for a lengthy walk. Once you reach San Francisco, navigate towards Chinatown by heading towards the Embarcadero and then following the directions above.
