From Fisherman's Wharf or the Embarcadero, walk up the Filbert Street Steps or the Greenwich Street Steps on Telegraph Hill's eastern slope. These stairways lead through charming gardens and offer scenic views. The walk is steep and takes about 30 minutes. There is no cost for walking.

Taxis and ride-sharing services can take you directly to Coit Tower. A ride from Pier 39 to Coit Tower costs approximately $8-$10 and takes about 3 minutes. From downtown, expect to pay around $15-$18.
