Getting There

    To reach Bird Rock Vista Point, enter the 17-Mile Drive through one of the five entry gates in Carmel or Pacific Grove. Admission is $12.25 per vehicle. Follow the red-dotted line on the roadway, a well-marked route with signs. Bird Rock is one of the designated stops along the drive. Note that the entry fee can be reimbursed with a purchase of $35 or more at Pebble Beach Resorts restaurants, excluding Pebble Beach Market.

  • Public Transport

    From Carmel-by-the-Sea, take the Monterey-Salinas Transit Line 1 bus towards Monterey. Get off at the stop closest to 17-Mile Drive. From there, walk approximately 0.5 miles towards Bird Rock Vista Point, following the signs. MST Line 1 fares are typically around $2-$4.

  • Walking

    From Carmel-by-the-Sea, head east on Ocean Avenue until you reach San Carlos Street. Turn left onto San Carlos and continue walking until you reach 7th Avenue. Turn right on 7th Avenue, which will turn into Carmelo Street. Follow Carmelo Street until it merges into Scenic Road. Continue along Scenic Road, keeping left to merge onto Bird Rock Road. Follow Bird Rock Road until you arrive at Bird Rock Vista Point. This walk is approximately 2.5 miles and will take about 1 hour. Note that you will still need to pay the $12.25 entrance fee to access 17-Mile Drive.
