From Castro Valley, walk to the Castro Valley Transit Center located at 3301 Castro Valley Blvd. Board the AC Transit Bus Line 30 towards 'Hayward BART'. Ride for approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the BART station and transfer to the BART train heading towards 'San Francisco/Daly City'. After about a 30-minute ride, disembark at the '16th St. Mission' station. From there, transfer to the Muni Metro. Take the 'K' or 'L' line towards 'West Portal'. Get off at 'Castro Station'. Harvey Milk Plaza is a short walk from the station, located just a few blocks away at 17th and Castro.

If you are already in Castro Valley, you can walk to Harvey Milk Plaza. Start at a central point like the Castro Valley Library. Head northwest on Castro Valley Blvd toward Redwood Rd. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with 17th Street. Turn left onto 17th Street, and follow it until you reach Castro Street. Turn right onto Castro Street, and you will see Harvey Milk Plaza on your left at the intersection with 17th Street. Note that this is a long walk, so be prepared with comfortable shoes.
