Public Transportation
To reach Playas de Tijuana from downtown Chula Vista, start by heading to the Chula Vista Transit Center located at 901 Bay Blvd, Chula Vista, CA 91911. From the transit center, board the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) bus route 704 towards the Otay Mesa Transit Center. The bus will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the 'Otay Mesa' stop. Once at Otay Mesa, you will need to walk to the border crossing, which is about a 15-minute walk. Follow the signs to the pedestrian crossing into Tijuana. After crossing the border, you can either walk or take a local taxi to Playas de Tijuana, which is about 15 minutes away by taxi. The taxi will take you directly to Playas Coronado.

If you are already near the border area, you can walk from the San Ysidro Trolley Station. Exit the station and follow the signs towards the pedestrian border crossing. After crossing into Tijuana, continue straight until you reach the main road. From there, you can either walk to Playas de Tijuana, which is approximately a 30-minute walk, or take a local taxi. If you choose to walk, head south on Avenida Revolución, then turn right onto Boulevard Playa del Oro which will lead you directly to Playas de Tijuana.
