Bus
To get to Hayes Valley in San Francisco from Hayward, start by heading to the Hayward BART Station located at 699 B St, Hayward, CA. Take the BART train towards San Francisco/Daly City. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the Civic Center/UN Plaza station. Once you exit the station, head west on Grove St toward Larkin St. Continue straight to merge onto Hayes St. Walk for about 10 minutes, and you will arrive in the heart of Hayes Valley, known for its vibrant shops and eateries.
Train
From Hayward, make your way to the Hayward BART Station at 699 B St. Board a BART train heading toward San Francisco/Daly City. After about 30 minutes, get off at the Powell St station. Exit the station and head west towards Market St. Turn left on Market St and catch the Muni 21 bus (direction: Golden Gate Park). Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at the corner of Hayes St and Laguna St. From there, it's a short walk to explore the Hayes Valley area.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous and wish to cycle, you can rent a bike in Hayward. Start at the Hayward City Hall area and head towards the San Francisco Bay Trail. Follow the trail north until you reach the Bay Bridge. Cross the bridge on foot as bicycles are allowed. Once in San Francisco, navigate to the Embarcadero and follow it north until you reach Market St. Turn right onto Market St and continue until you reach Hayes St. Take a left onto Hayes St, and you'll find yourself in Hayes Valley. This route is approximately 15 miles and offers beautiful views of the bay.
Walking
If you're already in downtown Hayward, you can start your journey to Hayes Valley by walking to the Hayward BART Station located at 699 B St. From there, take the BART train to Civic Center/UN Plaza.
