Public Transport
To reach Avalon from Huntington Beach, start by walking to the nearest bus stop. Catch the OCTA Route 1 bus heading south towards San Clemente. Stay on the bus for about 35-40 minutes and get off at the Santa Ana station. From there, transfer to the Metrolink train service. Take the train towards Los Angeles and then switch at the San Pedro station to the Catalina Express ferry line. The ferry will take you across to Avalon, which is located on Catalina Island. Ensure you check the ferry schedule ahead of time to plan your trip.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike in Huntington Beach. Head towards the beach path and continue south until you reach the Santa Ana River Trail. Follow the trail until you reach the corner of Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). From there, you will need to bike south on PCH towards San Pedro. The ride is around 20 miles and may take about 2 hours. Once you reach San Pedro, park your bike at a designated bike rack and catch the Catalina Express ferry to Avalon. Remember to check the ferry schedule for departure times.
