From the Bolsa Chica State Beach, head east towards Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Walk along the beach path until you reach the end of the sand. Once you reach PCH, cross the highway carefully to the east side. Continue walking north along PCH until you reach the intersection with Warner Avenue. At this point, you will see the entrance to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. The West Trailhead is located just a short walk from this intersection.

If you have access to a bike, you can ride from Bolsa Chica State Beach along the designated bike paths. Head towards Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and follow the bike lane north. Once you reach Warner Avenue, make a left turn and continue until you see the entrance to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands. For those who prefer public transportation, you can catch the OCTA bus 1 from the nearest bus stop on Pacific Coast Highway heading north. Get off at the stop at Warner Avenue.
