From Bolsa Chica State Beach, head northeast along Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). You will exit the beach area and cross Pacific Coast Highway. Continue walking along the sidewalk on the east side of PCH. After about a 10-15 minute walk (approximately 0.5 miles), you will reach Warner Avenue. Cross Warner Avenue to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands entrance, which will be on your left. Continue walking on the path until you reach the Bolsa Chica Wetlands West Trailhead.

Bicycle
If you have a bicycle, you can take the same route as walking but at a quicker pace. From Bolsa Chica State Beach, cycle northeast on PCH, then take a left onto Warner Avenue. The entrance to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands will be on your left. Please ensure you follow all local traffic laws while cycling.

Public Transit
To reach the Bolsa Chica Wetlands West Trailhead via public transit, walk to the nearest bus stop on Pacific Coast Highway and catch the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) Bus Route 1 heading east. Get off at the Warner Avenue stop. From there, walk south towards the Bolsa Chica Wetlands entrance, which will be on your left. This journey may take around 30-40 minutes depending on the bus schedule and wait times. Be sure to check the OCTA website for current fare prices and schedules.
