Walking
Start at the Joshua Tree Visitor Center located at 6554 Park Blvd, Joshua Tree, CA 92252. Exit the visitor center and head south on Park Blvd. Turn left onto Highway 62 and walk east. Continue for approximately 1.5 miles until you reach the intersection with the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. At this point, you’ll see a sign for the Fortynine Palms Oasis hike. Take the trailhead to the right and follow the path that leads you into the canyon. The hike is about 3 miles round trip and will take you through beautiful desert landscapes before reaching the oasis.

Biking
If you have a bicycle, you can start at the Joshua Tree Visitor Center. Ride south on Park Blvd for about 0.5 miles, then turn right onto Highway 62. Continue biking east for about 1.5 miles until you see the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. Follow the signs to the Fortynine Palms Oasis trailhead, which is located at the end of Fortynine Palms Canyon Rd. Note that the bike ride will take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.

Currently, there are limited public transportation options directly to Fortynine Palms Oasis. However, you can take a local bus or shuttle service from Joshua Tree to Twentynine Palms. Once you arrive in Twentynine Palms, walk or bike to Fortynine Palms Canyon Rd. The trailhead for the oasis is located along this road. Please check local bus schedules for times and availability.
