Getting There

Walking
From the Joshua Tree Visitor Center, head south on Park Boulevard towards the intersection with Highway 62. At the intersection, turn right and continue walking on the shoulder of Highway 62 for approximately 0.8 miles (1.3 km) until you reach the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. Once inside the park, continue straight on Park Boulevard for about 3 miles (4.8 km). You will then reach the junction for Keys View Road. Turn left onto Keys View Road. Continue for about 5.5 miles (8.9 km) until you reach the Keys View parking area. Follow the signs for the viewpoint.

Biking
Start at the Joshua Tree Visitor Center and head south on Park Boulevard. After approximately 0.8 miles (1.3 km), turn right onto Highway 62 and ride along the shoulder for about 0.8 miles (1.3 km) until you enter Joshua Tree National Park. After entering the park, continue on Park Boulevard for about 3 miles (4.8 km). Look for the left turn onto Keys View Road. Take this road and bike for about 5.5 miles (8.9 km) until you reach the parking area at Keys View. Make sure to bring plenty of water, as biking can be strenuous in the desert heat.

Start at the Joshua Tree Visitor Center. Use the Morongo Basin Transit Authority (MBTA) bus service to get to the nearest stop on Highway 62. From there, you will need to walk back towards the park entrance. After entering the park, you will need to walk along Park Boulevard for about 3 miles (4.8 km) before turning onto Keys View Road. Continue walking for about 5.5 miles (8.9 km) until you reach the Keys View parking area. Ensure you check the bus schedule for return trips, as service may be limited.
