    From I-5 South, take the exit for Sassafras St/San Diego Airport. Head down to Sassafras St and turn left. Make another left on India St and a right on Vine. The house is near the corner of Vine and Union. Street parking is free, but check for posted signs. Parking is typically readily available.

What began in 1994 as a simple desire to transform ordinary shrubs has evolved into a stunning display of over 50 meticulously sculpted topiaries.Inspired by their travels around the world, the Harpers have shaped their bushes into a variety of figures, including animals, human forms, and geometric shapes. Visitors can spot elephants, whales, dinosaurs, pyramids, and even a surfer among the greenery. Edna Harper spends 3-4 hours each day tending to the garden, with assistance from her husband and gardener. The garden is a labor of love, with the owners welcoming visitors to view and photograph their creations from the sidewalk.Located at 3549 Union St, the garden is free to view and open 24 hours, though visitors are asked to be respectful of the private residence and neighborhood. Street parking is generally readily available. A charming Little Free Library, adorned with bougainvillea, adds to the garden's appeal.
